New Puppy Supply List

This list is designed to be helpful to new owners and reinforce the responsible commitment required of an Ultimate Guardian owner.

  1. Nutrition & Water
    • High-Quality Kibble: A sufficient supply of the exact food the puppy is currently eating (recommended by Rocca Fidele).
    • Food and Water Bowls: Stainless steel or ceramic bowls (easy to clean and durable). Elevated bowls are recommended for large breeds as they grow.
  2. Confinement & Safety
    • Crate: A large, appropriately sized wire or plastic travel crate (ensure it will accommodate the Cane Corso’s adult size).
    • Exercise Pen/Puppy Gate: Necessary for creating a safe, confined indoor area where the puppy can play when unsupervised.
    • Bedding: Durable, washable crate pads or orthopedic bedding (avoid soft blankets that can be chewed).
  3. Training & Walking
    • Leash and Collar: A lightweight nylon or leather collar and a 6-foot leash for initial training.
    • ​Training Treats: Small, soft, high-value treats for positive reinforcement.
    • Chew Toys: Durable, size-appropriate rubber toys (e.g., Kongs) to redirect destructive chewing.
  4. Grooming & Health
    • Identification Tag: Clearly labeled tag with the dog’s name and your contact number.
    • Grooming Tools: Large-breed nail clippers, a soft-bristled brush, and gentle puppy shampoo.
    • Enzyme Cleaner: For accident cleanup (a must-have for puppy owners!).
